Star Wars: An Ancient Threat
The space station orbiting the planet Sarem was originally constructed by the Republic during the Galactic Cold War, and was later decommissioned after the fall of the Sith Empire. When Sarem was discovered to house rich mineral deposits, Czerka Corp. converted the old Republic base into a habitat for off world miners. It continued being used as such until Sarem ceased being profitable and the whole operation was shut down.
A century and a half after its second abandonment, Sarem Station is now a hub for spacers, smugglers, squatters, bounty hunters, and other underworld ne’er-do-wells. It serves as a nexus point for those traveling to or from the outer rim, and despite the station’s shady clientele is a relatively safe location. Although it isn’t controlled by any government regulations Sarem Station does boast a small security detail that ensures that business can be conducted smoothly and its patrons do not get too out of hand.
